The hitch installs easily on the rear skewer of your bike, and then stays attached so the Burley can be connected at any time. If you’d like to swap the Burley from bike to bike, pick up a couple spare hitches and install them on the extra bikes so the hitch doesn’t need to be un-installed when swapping bikes.

At Burley, we want to make sure that everybody has the opportunity to take a trailer with them on every adventure. The Burley Thru Axle is our solution to bikes equipped with a 12mm thru axle. Male threading on the end allows a hitch to be attached, and any Burley trailer can then be used with a thru axle bike. And, it can also be used to remove and install Shimano disc brake rotors. The FR-5G requires the use a chainwhip tool to prevent the cassette from turning during lockring removal.
